When a mycelial colony has become established, it sends up fruit bodies in a ring around the core of the colony in order to procreate. These rings have been called Faerie Rings for centuries, and can be observed forming and then disappearing for several years after the colony has matured.
A Faerie Ring around a loved one's resting place would grow and evolve. The soil would be enriched, and plants, flowers, and bees would thrive there. Watching the ground become alive with local mycelium varieties would offer fascination and wonder, and provide a calming place for reflection and acceptance of our part in nature.
Mycelium interment is a loving tribute to life.
