ARTIST STATEMENT 

Art has always been a deeply personal journey for me, a way of connecting to my innermost self and to the world around me. As a self-taught artist, I have dedicated my life to this creative pursuit, fueled by passion, self-awareness, and the desire to continuously grow. My inspiration comes from diverse sources—books, cartoons, and music—which all combine to inform the unique style that I bring to my work. This journey of discovery and self-expression is a cornerstone of my artistic process, where every piece becomes a reflection of my own progress.

Central to my work is the idea of self-awareness. Each painting is an exploration of the human experience, a journey that delves into emotions, struggles, and personal triumphs. I strive to push my own boundaries, ensuring that each creation represents a new step forward in my evolution. For me, art is not only about the finished product but also about the act of creation itself, an ongoing process of learning and growth. Family plays a significant role in my life and work, grounding me and giving me the strength to persevere. The themes of unity, love, and faith that are central to my life naturally flow into my artistic expression. I want my work to speak to the shared human experience, to evoke a sense of connection, and to remind viewers of the beauty that can be found in perseverance.

Over the years, I have made it a point to expand my artistic reach and build meaningful connections through my work. I have exhibited in venues across the United States, including the Conrad West Gallery in Las Vegas, Jkirkrichards Gallery in Provo, Utah, and various local venues in Utah. My art has resonated with audiences far and wide, and I have had the privilege of selling my work consistently through marketing efforts, referrals, and personal connections. My reach has extended beyond the United States, with sales as far as Egypt, and I take great pride in the fact that my work has touched lives on a global scale.

In addition to my artistic practice, I have always been committed to helping others reach their highest creative potential. I have held workshops aimed at guiding and inspiring other artists, sharing my techniques and insights to encourage their personal growth. Creativity, in all its forms, has the power to change lives, and I believe it is important to give back to the community. I have also donated several works to charitable events, particularly those focused on healthcare causes, using my art to support initiatives that help others in need.

From a technical standpoint, my approach is rooted in experimentation and spontaneity. I draw heavily from Outsider Art and Cubism, allowing the subconscious to guide my hand and letting my emotions and instinct take the lead. I often use automatic drawing as a method to uncover raw, unfiltered creativity, embracing the imperfections and letting them breathe life into my work. This process reflects my belief that true creativity lies in the ability to break free from constraints and trust in the journey.

One of the defining aspects of my work is the use of bright, vibrant colors. I infuse my paintings with energy and light, symbolizing hope and the possibility of happiness, even in difficult times. I want viewers to see that happiness is not something that comes easily but can be achieved through dedication and effort. The brightness in my work serves as a visual metaphor for this belief, encouraging viewers to find light in their own lives and embrace the possibility of change.
