This is a Korean Art founded on 11th April 1955 by our Late.Founder General Choi Hongi (1918-2002) his native and birthplace was Korea.
If we talk about meaning of Taekwondo
"TAE" stands for jumping and Flying, to Kick or smash with the foot. "Kwon" denotes the first - chiefly to punch or destroy with hand or fist. "Do" means an art or way. Thus taken collectively "Taekwondo"indicates the mental training and the techniques of unarmed combat for self defence as well as health, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks and dodges with bare hands and feet to the rapid destruction of the moving opponent or opponents.
