I'm really enjoying these, and so happy to have found the whole collection. My public library and Audible only have a fraction of the series. A few have less than stellar audio quality, also one or 2 books stop mid-chapter and I have to refresh the page to continue, but it's well worth it even with these little glitches.

I have been impressed both the James Mitchner and Robin Cook series I purchased. They arrived in good time to New Zealand and they were very well packed. The DVDs were great although I will need to find a better programme to read them than what I am currently using. The series available on the site are terrific and I will be purchasing other ones. There are series that I can not get in NZ from Audiobooks were I usually get my audiobooks and the price is much much better.

I, too, love Susan Ericksen's narration of the "in death" series. however, I am currently listening to "Seduction in Death". Susan has changed Peabody's voice so that it is difficult to distinguish it from Eve's. Anyone know why the change?

I'm coming to this discussion late but thought I would help by explaining that Susan did numerous in death books before inventing the new distinct voice for Peabody. I believe some of the new releases of early books have had the Peabody voice updated so if you are hearing a version where the female voice are similar then you are probably listening to an old edition.

Hope that helps.

When it comes to romantic suspense transcending time, J.D. Robb is the name of the New York Times bestselling author everyone should be familiar with. Her Eve Dallas futuristic romantic suspense series has captured the hearts of millions of readers all around the world since 1995. Currently, the series is still going strong with almost 60 books published to date (and many more if we consider the novellas and short stories as well).

While the series is set in the future and there are some gadgets, tools, cars (ok flying cars and spaceships), the books are really contemporary in nature. They are not sci-fi thrillers, but tried and tested futuristic romance, aka romantic suspense novel series adored by readers worldwide.

Reading the JD Robb series in order only means reading her novels. This alias has only one series of books, which are still going strong even after close to 50 books in the series (with the latest one, Payback in Death, published in 2023).

I have to admit, I love the series. Very much so. Her books around police detective lieutenant Eve Dallas and her hubby Roarke, make my heart beat fast even now, after years of reading the first installment, Naked In Death.

While the J.D. Robb series does tend to be a bit repetitive and formulaic if you read the series in order without pause, they are still some of the best romantic suspense novels of all times and people buy them as soon as the latest J.D. Robb books are out.

So should we read the J D Robb novels in chronological order for her lieutenant Eve Dallas series? While each story is different in terms of solving a particular case, I strongly suggest you read them in the right chronological order. The main and secondary characters are all the same, and you will get to learn not only their interaction with each other but also their development and evolution within the settings of the books.

One of the books I have reviewed in the In Death series, Festive In Death, was published in 2014 and it was the 39th book in the J.D. Robb series. Only three short years, and now we are at #20 with Golden in Death, to be published early 2020.

OH.EM. GEE!!! This has got to be the longest series I have ever had the privilege of creating a reading order guide for. And WOW does it look good. Recommended over and over again by fellow book enthusiasts, I was delighted to find out that J.D. Robb is Nora Roberts (I love her books!).

I came across the in death series by accident and only have the last three to read. I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts and she has never disappointed with these or her other books. I cant wait for her to keep adding to it. Very rare can an author have so a long running series and continue to keep you in touch with all of the characters.

I LOVE!!!!! the In Death series. A friend gave me a few books and I loved them. I got a nook and have been able to start at the beginning and have now read 39 of her books. I just finished Concealed in Death. I am anxiously awaiting hew next books.

I am now reading this series for the 2nd time! First started in June of 2006 and read all that were available at that time. Then I parked the books in my bookcase, meanwhile buying any new ones that came out. Now, in 2019 I am reading every book again! So far am on book #18 and enjoying every one just as much as I did the first time around! Love this series!

I love the in death series. Eve Dallas is the soul of every woman & Roarke is the perfect picture of the dream prince lover. I love the new couples. Keep writing this wonderful script & I ll keep reading.

I love these books. After 45 of them there are some I love more than others, but these books hold up really well. About 2 years ago I did an entire series reread and it reminded me why I love them so much.

I admire those of you who can do an entire series reread. Robb/Roberts has some verbal ticks that drive me crazy if I try to read too many of her books in a row, so I always have to space them out a bit and read others in between.

I highly recommend reading the series in order, both to keep the characters straight and to watch the development of the relationships and personalities (and because I have book series OCD and must read books in order). When a new character comes in as a minor part, I wonder if/when I will see them again and how they will affect future books (like Peabody).

I love the series. I like how competent Eve and her friends are and how all the bonds are forming in time. True the Eve Rork love was pretty quick consumed but the books show how much there is still to learn and solve after happy ever after wedding.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I have had the pleasure of banging through the entire series as audio books. Susan Ericksen does a great job of giving life to each character. The Dallas/Peabody dialog is especially chuckle inducing.

Just starting to read it JD/ Nora roberts has out done her self again . I have been reading the books out of order since 2000. In 2003 I got my first nook and restarted from the beginning I finshed just before festive in death came out this replaces CSI for me . Please thank nora again a friend gave me naked in death I have been hooked sense . I am enjoying it I only finshed the last one only a few days ago .

And as with any series, long-running or otherwise, some books work better than others. Which ones work or not is different for each reader. What I love most about the series is that we get the ongoing relationship between Eve and Roarke, and Eve and the various supporting characters (there are a lot of them after so many books!) and those scenes often save the book for me when the mystery is not one I like. In some books we know who the killer(s) is right away and the book is more about how Eve catches them. Others are more of a whodunit. But even though only a few years have passed in book time there are no cliff-hanger endings. In each book you get a complete story.

The only odd thing about reading the books like that was that I became really impatient with the readers who felt like Eve needed to hurry up and get over her trauma. For those readers, the series had been going on for years, but my experience was closer to the timeframe of the actual books, and I actually *still* feel that Eve has moved through all that a bit hastily.

I keep reading the In Death books because I like mysteries, futuristics, romances, family sagas. I like the many characters Robb has created; I admire her ability to keep me interested in them from book to book. I like the way she changes up the type of story from book to book; of course, there is repetition throughout the series, but Robb does a fine job of spacing them out. e24fc04721
