Just a bed 2025
Bed, White Cloth, Fluorescent, Sensor, UV light, Warm Light, Perfume
Dimension Variable
At first glance, it is nothing more than a bed — flat, still, and unassuming. Yet as one draws closer, the surface begins to shift. It holds the quiet weight of moments once lived: private, unspeakable acts that unfold in specific times and spaces, now only traceable through the imagination.
We are raised to believe that sex is taboo — something shameful, something not to be spoken of in polite conversation. Yet this very silence breeds curiosity, longing, and a hunger for exploration. Desire becomes both a mirror and a trap — a place of infinite fall, or a fantasy dressed as paradise.
This work reflects not just on the bed as an object, but on the emotional and psychological landscape shared between two people. It questions the nature of love and intimacy, and confronts a truth often denied: that love, at its core, is rooted in desire. Without desire, there is no love. This idea, frequently rejected out of shame or moral aspiration, deserves reconsideration.
‘Just a Bed’ invites viewers to think beyond social norms — to reflect on how we experience desire, how we repress or express it, and how it intertwines with identity, connection, and memory.
Please note: scent is also an integral part of this work. It is meant to be experienced alongside the visual and textual elements, as part of the emotional atmosphere the piece creates.
