• If you are looking for some material to start your journey to the oriental abacus, nothing better than Kojima's first book The Japanese Abacus,Its Use and Theory Carles E. Tuttle Co (1954) that you can find at archive.org. But you can also find many excellent introductions to the subject on the internet; for example, Abacus: Mystery of the bead by Totton Heffelfinger & Gary Flom (archive.org).
