Trauma + PTSD

We can look at trauma as Big T's and Little t's. Big T's could be seen as catastrophic events, sexual + domestic violence, or life threatening experiences. Little t's may look like harassment, loss, death of a loved one, emotional abuse, etc. Little or Big, Trauma impacts our body and nervous system. Untreated trauma is pervasive and many time is at the root of so many of our presenting mental health concerns, even if we try really hard to shut it out of our memory.
What ever has happened to you is not your fault, and you are not alone.
I have over 9 years experience working with survivors of sexual violence, familial trauma, abuse, and abusive relationship dynamics. I will never ask you to share things you are not comfortable with and I will strive to create a safe and healing therapeutic environment for you to explore + process what you have experienced. You can heal, you can move forward.

Relationships

Relationships (Friendships, hookups, dating, marriage) can be a bit of a roller coaster. We enter into the relationship with our own sets of ideas and backgrounds and sometimes communication, boundaries, trust, and needs aren't always being met at 100% from the partner, family member, or friend.
Just because you're in a relationship, does not mean you should lose yourself. You are still an individual with desires, needs, and ideas. I can help you learn strategies to create healthy boundaries in your relationships and practice healthy communication to minimize confrontation and increase validation.
