Miss Boswell's Bio

I am a graduate of Jeffco Schools and I am a Standley Lake graduate (Class of 1994 🐊).  I am a firm believer in the idea of "Once a Gator, always a Gator," and it seems that I have taken that belief to heart by returning to SLHS as a teacher.  Some might say that I bleed blue and green.  I had a handful of teachers, counselors, and administrators during my time at SLHS that made a lasting impression on my heart, and it is because of their influence that I decided to "pay it forward" and become an educator.  

After graduating from high school, I left the comforts of home to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley (GO BEARS 🐻 ) where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with an emphasis in secondary education, as well as a Liberal Arts minor in music.  This is my 24th year of teaching, having spent almost 20 of those years here at SLHS.  In December of 2011, I completed the requirements for my Master's Degree in School Counseling and graduated in December 2018 with my 2nd Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.  I'm still not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up and want to have a few options for when I finally decide on my "big girl job."

When I am not in the classroom, I can be found in the SLHS gymnasium while keeping the scorebook for Gator Volleyball 🏐, sitting courtside watching some Gator basketball 🏀, at the NAAC cheering on Gator soccer ⚽, or rooting for the Gator hockey 🏒 team at the Ice Center.  I am the ultimate Gator fan and it's almost always a game of "Where's Boswell?," as kids and parents alike try to pick me out of the crowd!  Since I don't have any children of my own, I love going to support "my kids" at their various sporting events and other extracurricular activities throughout the school year.  Doing so helps me with getting to know who they are as individuals outside of my classroom.  If you don't see me at an SLHS function, you can almost always find me spending time with my family and friends, working in the yard, or going for a leisurely ride on the Harley 🏍️.
