Mrs. Parks is an 8th grade Language Arts teacher at Janitell and loves reading, writing, and cheerleading. She's hoping the 8th graders win big this year!
Mrs. Lovato is the librarian and drama teacher at Janitell. She's a life-long learner and loves the excitement of working through something new! She is looking forward to connecting with learners through Battle this year.

Who? YOU! Anyone willing to read the five titles. As long as you are a student or staff member at Janitell, there is a place for you.

What? Reading and competing! IF you complete the required reading by the second week of January you will get to participate in fun practice rounds, fight for a spot on a competing grade level or staff team, and attend an amazing end-of-the-year field trip.

When? NOW. You can acquire any of these novels on your own (amazon, your local library, a friend, etc...). They will be available in the school library by mid-Sept. You will still have time to read. The deadlines for completing the books and checking in for participation is the second week of January 2020. Optional Friday Kahoots run from 8/23 - Thanksgiving break.

Where? At Janitell library, every other Friday until the break. Weekly lunch meetings will start in December with those interested in joining the competition team (location TBD)
