Concert Band is the intermediate band ensemble at James Blair Middle School. Students in this ensemble are in their second year of middle school band. Concert Band students perform in the Winter Concert and Spring Concert. They also have the option to participate in District Band, Jazz Band, the spring trip to Kings Dominion Festivals of Music, and a variety of other community performances.

Supplies for Concert Band, 2021-2022 School Year:
-Instrument (students will need it in class every day beginning the second week of school)
-Cleaning supplies for your instrument
*Flute accessories: Bandana or cloth to use with cleaning rod
*Oboe accessories: Drop cloth
*Clarinet accessories: Drop cloth, cork grease, mouthpiece brush
*Alto Saxophone accessories: Drop cloth, cork grease, mouthpiece brush
*Trumpet accessories: Valve/slide oil, cleaning snake, mouthpiece brush
*French horn accessories: Valve/rotor oil
*Trombone accessories: Slide grease, cleaning snake, mouthpiece brush
*Baritone accessories: Valve/slide oil, cleaning snake, mouthpiece brush
*Tuba and Percussion: No cleaning supplies needed
-Reeds (if applicable, must have 3 at all times)
-Essential Elements Book 2 for your instrument
-Pencils
-Concert attire
*Black dress pants
*Black dress shoes
*JBMS Music Polo- will be avaliable to order at Open House and during the first week of school
