If you want immersive gaming audio with deep bass and an ultra-long battery for your console setup, choose JBL Tune 670NC; if you need seamless device switching for work calls and a lightweight fit for all-day wear, choose Monster Mission 100. This isn't about which brand has a bigger logo or which one sold more units last month; it is about matching the specific engineering of these on-ear headphones to how you actually use them, particularly when you are looking for wireless on ear headphones for ps5 or just a reliable companion for your daily commute.
• JBL Tune 670NC: Delivers massive 70-hour battery life and adaptive noise cancellation with dedicated video modes, but lacks multipoint connection for simultaneous device switching.
• Monster Mission 100: Features the latest Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connectivity and AI call noise cancellation, though it offers only 40 hours of playtime and no active noise cancelling for music.
• The Pick for Gamers: Choose the JBL if you prioritize immersion and battery endurance during long sessions.
• The Pick for Professionals: Choose the Monster if you need to juggle between a laptop and phone without re-pairing every time.
The JBL Tune 670NC is built for the person who treats their headphones as a primary hub for entertainment and focus. The standout feature here is the sheer endurance of the battery. With up to 70 hours of playback on a single charge, this unit can outlast multiple weeks of casual listening before you ever need to plug in the USB-C cable. If you are someone who forgets to charge their gear often, or if you are planning a long trip where power outlets are scarce, this battery capacity is a game-changer. Even better, a quick five-minute charge gives you three additional hours of music, so you aren't stuck waiting around if you do run low.
For gamers specifically, the design includes a Smart Audio & Video feature within the app that lets you toggle between audio modes optimized for sound quality and video modes optimized for output latency. This is a critical distinction for anyone using head phones for ps5 or other consoles. You want your footsteps and dialogue to sync perfectly with the action on screen, and the ability to switch to a "Video" mode suggests JBL has engineered the latency handling specifically for this use case. The Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC) further isolates you from the room, letting you focus entirely on the game or the movie without distractions from the outside world.

However, this product is not for everyone. It lacks multipoint connectivity, meaning you cannot be connected to your laptop and your phone simultaneously. If you frequently take calls while working on a computer, you will have to manually disconnect one device to connect to the other. Additionally, while the ANC is excellent for blocking out background noise, the lack of a carrying case in the standard package means you will need to find your own protection for travel, unlike some competitors that include hard shells. It is best suited for the listener who wants maximum battery life, deep bass performance via the JBL Pure Bass drivers, and specific optimization for video content over multi-device multitasking.
The Monster Mission 100 takes a different approach, prioritizing connectivity and call clarity over raw battery longevity. The most significant technical advantage here is the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connection. This allows you to pair the headset with two devices at once—say, your work laptop and your personal smartphone—and switch between them instantly. If you are constantly toggling between a Zoom meeting on your computer and a text message notification on your phone, this feature eliminates the friction of unpairing and re-pairing. It creates a seamless workflow that the JBL simply cannot match.
Another key strength is the AI Call Noise Cancellation. While the JBL focuses on canceling ambient noise for you to hear, the Monster focuses on filtering out background noise for the person on the other end. Whether you are in a busy coffee shop or a noisy office, the built-in microphone intelligently strips away disruptive sounds so your voice comes through crystal clear. This makes the Monster Mission 100 an ideal choice for remote workers or students who spend a lot of time on voice calls. The design also leans heavily into comfort for extended wear, weighing in at just 5 ounces with breathable ear cushions and an adjustable headband that provides a secure grip without feeling heavy on the ears.
That said, there are trade-offs to consider. The battery life tops out at 40 hours, which is solid but significantly less than the JBL's 70-hour capability. You won't have the same "forget to charge for a month" safety net. Furthermore, this model does not offer active noise cancellation for music listening; it relies on passive isolation from the ear cups and the lack of ANC hardware. If your priority is total silence while commuting on a loud train or flying in an airplane, the Monster might feel too open compared to its competitor. It is best for the user who values modern connectivity standards, clear voice communication, and a featherlight build over maximum battery duration and active noise isolation.

• Best for Latest Connectivity → Monster Mission 100: Utilizes Bluetooth 5.4 for potentially faster pairing and better range stability compared to the JBL's 5.3.
• Best Value for Gamers → JBL Tune 670NC: The combination of ANC, video mode, and massive battery makes it the stronger candidate for console setups.
After weighing the specs and understanding how people actually use these devices, I would buy the JBL Tune 670NC. The combination of 70-hour battery life, active noise cancellation, and the specific "Video" mode for latency management makes it the far superior choice for anyone looking for wireless on ear headphones for ps5. While the Monster Mission 100 is a competent headset with great call features, the JBL's ability to isolate you from the world and deliver optimized audio for games is the deciding factor. I recommend the JBL for the gamer who wants to lose themselves in the experience without worrying about charging cables or audio lag.
Yes, the JBL Tune 670NC is explicitly optimized for gaming with a "Video" mode in the app to reduce audio lag, making it a strong contender for wireless on ear headphones for ps5.

The JBL Tune 670NC features Adaptive Noise Cancelling to block external sounds for you, while the Monster Mission 100 focuses on AI noise cancellation for your voice during calls.
