Rules & Guidelines for JBCN STARS 2024
Welcome to
JBCN STARS
!
To ensure a smooth and fair competition, please review the following rules and guidelines:
1. Eligibility
Participants must be students from Grades 6 to 12.
Each team must consist of three students.
2. Competition Format
Individual Round:
Answer multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer scores 4 points, and each incorrect answer results in a -1 point penalty.
Team Round:
Work together to solve a set of problems. Each correct answer scores 10 points. No negative points for incorrect answers.
Math Quiz:
Top teams from each level compete in a live quiz for the Math Star Trophy.
3. Conduct
Respect:
Maintain a respectful attitude towards all participants and staff.
Honesty:
All answers must be your own work.
No external help or resources are allowed.
Integrity:
Any form of cheating or dishonesty will result in
disqualification.
4. Timing
Punctuality:
Arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the event starts.
Breaks:
Follow the scheduled breaks and return on time.
5. Equipment
Allowed:
Basic stationery
(pen, pencil, eraser
).
Not Allowed:
Electronic devices (
calculators, mobile phones
) during the competition rounds.
6. Awards and Recognition
Individual Awards:
Top three scorers in each grade level will receive plaques.
Team Awards:
Top three teams in each grade level will get plaques and certificates.
Math Star Trophy:
Awarded to the winning team of the Math Quiz round.
