Aims of remote learning during a main school closure:
During these disrupted times, we want children to continue to be 'Giving their Best' and 'Achieving their Highest'.
Our intent is that directed remote learning will support children with reading, writing and maths skills, while also providing opportunities for life skills and enriching activities with parents and carers.
Our expectation is that all pupils complete daily reading, writing and maths activities each weekday (Monday - Friday). Children in Nursery and Reception should log into Seesaw* or refer to the remote learning paper pack for work set. Children in Years 1 to 6 should log in to Google Classroom* or refer to the remote learning paper pack for work set.
How work is organised at home is at the discretion of the parents and carers, but we recommend that children complete reading, writing and maths learning in the morning and other activities in the afternoon.
* We have set up Seesaw for children in the Early Years and Google Classroom for children in Key Stages 1 and 2. Both platforms are free and secure learning networks. They allow teachers to create and share remote learning resources with pupils, and in return, for pupils to share their work with their teachers.
Guidelines for Google Classroom and Seesaw are as follows:
Pupils will be required to use appropriate grammar instead of texting language.
The site will be used to discuss class-related content only.
Please click on the Remote Learning Documents Tab for a list of helpful documents for parents and children to access which explain aspects of remote learning. There are also documents which offer support and advice with completing activities at home.
