About The Artist

JAZZ TEE YUJIE

Jazz is a Malaysia-based emerging artist whose practice moves between the psychological and the corporeal. Her works often draw upon anatomical and organic structures as vessels through which emotional and existential states take form. She is deeply drawn to the spaces between consciousness and unconsciousness — where clarity dissolves, and the unseen begins to breathe.

In her recent phase, Jazz finds herself shifting from introspective analysis toward a more sensory, intuitive exploration. Using materials such as charcoal, carbon powder, and fabric, she seeks to record not the visible, but the traces of an inner presence — sensations that linger between memory and imagination. Fragments of her lived experiences and recurring dreams resurface in her process, unfolding as quiet dialogues with the self.

Through these evolving gestures, her practice now contemplates transition itself: the moment of stillness between life and decay, awareness and oblivion — the delicate threshold where transformation begins.
