A drama workshop was held for the performance of Final Solutions by Mahesh Dattani, guided by Alpa Ma’am. The focus of the workshop was on exploring the play’s themes, character development, and stage presentation. Participants took part in script readings, scene enactments, and discussions about the play's social and political aspects, gaining a deeper understanding of the complexities of performance and direction.
Additionally, a special session was led by Kamal Joshi Sir, who shared valuable insights into stage performance and the fundamentals of drama and acting. He covered key techniques such as voice modulation, body language, and character portrayal, stressing the significance of expression and timing in theater. The session provided practical tips, assisting participants in enhancing their acting abilities and enriching their comprehension of drama.
To enhance our preparation for the final exams, the Department of English conducts an annual review of internal exam papers, guided by Dilip Barad Sir, along with Prakruti Ma’am and Megha Ma’am. This review process helps students identify common mistakes, improve their writing skills, and develop a more organized approach to answering questions. By analyzing their responses, students gain a better understanding of key concepts and learn to express their thoughts more clearly.
In addition to this review, the department organizes a workshop called Essay Type Answer Analysis to further support academic development. The workshop focuses on key aspects of essay writing, such as developing arguments, maintaining logical coherence, and ensuring clarity of expression. Through in-depth discussions and feedback, students gain valuable insights into refining their writing style and enhancing their ability to present structured, analytical responses in the exams.
On August 17, 2023, the Department of English at MKBU organized a photography workshop titled Imagination - an Art of Seeing, led by photographer Kaushik Ghelani. The session focused on the role of imagination in photography, highlighting that capturing an image goes beyond merely documenting a scene; it involves creatively interpreting it. Participants learned key techniques such as composition, lighting, and camera usage to improve their visual storytelling abilities.
The workshop encouraged participants to look beyond traditional viewpoints and embrace photography as a form of artistic expression. Through practical exercises, attendees applied their new skills, photographing various subjects, including landscapes and portraits. The session ended with a display of selected photographs, showcasing the creative progress and fresh perspectives participants had developed during the workshop.
