Warm nights under stars
Cool breeze and cicadas sing
My summer daydreams

Candles drip their wax
Warm gold glows out in the dark
A storm screams outside
Thunder’s timber shakes the wood
Trees whimper as they lose limbs

-Quarantine-
We sit alone in our own dark rooms, kept company by the blue light. I am slowly rotting into someone I don't recognize. My brain has slipped into the coding of the internet, a place that now feels safer than my mom’s arms.
I miss when I didn't know the walls of my room better than the people outside of them. I miss when every action didn't feel like a coping mechanism.
I'm craving something good outside of my daydreams. Something I want to look back on.
I sit waiting patiently for that day to come.
Rhyming

Leaves capture the trees, in a mossy green
And the branches, full, begin to lean
While below, flowers erupt with fairy tale colors
And children pick them for their mothers
Summer is here, not a cloud to be seen
The sky is clear as if just swept clean
And the glow of the sun is most serene
We bask in the rays covered in a honey hue
As my skin turns tan, next to you
I could not have imagined a more beautiful scene
