Presently working as Senior Joint Director (ECS), DIrectorate of Technical Education,

Govt. of Kerala. My research interests include power quality, power electronics applications to power systems, and renewable energy. Serving as a Reviewer for many IEEE and IET Transactions. I have co-authored/co-authored the following:

Jayaprakash P. (M'08, SM'19, IEEE) was born in Kannur, Kerala, and received the B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, from the Government College of Engineering Kannur, in 1996. He has completed M.Tech. and Ph.D.from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He had worked for his master’s thesis at Technical University Dresden, Germany, under DAAD scheme during 2003. He had worked as Research Associate with the Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC), Palakkad, India, in 1997, and as an Engineer with the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation, (NHPC), India, in 1998. In 1999, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Government College of Engineering, Kannur, Kerala, India, where he became an Associate Professor, in 2009, and a Professor, in 2014. He was Professor and head of Government Engineering College, Wayanad during 2001-2003. Currently, Director DIrectorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala.

Dr. Jayaprakash has authored/co-authored one text book, applied for 3 patents, published 33 international journal articles and has about 115 international conference proceedings. He is also a reviewer for various international journals and conferences. His research interests include power quality, power electronics applications to power systems, electric vehicles, and renewable energy conversion systems.
