As a PhD researcher, I am interested in developing the many skills required to be in academia, including collaboration, science communication, open-access publishing, and public outreach. If you would like to work with me on any of those aspects, please don't hesitate to reach out!

My first research project (2021) used a 1D Solar Particle Propagation model to determine the transport characteristics of a solar event in December 2020, as recorded by Solar Orbiter.
I was supervised by Prof Du Toit Strauss who had created the model and assisted me with gathering the Solar Orbiter data from Dr Nina Dresing. This BSc Honours project expanded into my masters project (2022-2023) where I applied the same techniques and studied a catalogue of over a dozen events that were observed by multiple spacecraft. If you wish to read more about this, you can find my dissertation online at: http://hdl.handle.net/10394/42524
Using the results from this catalogue that I had meticulously built, I was able to explore background turbulence values in the heliosphere using data that stretch as far back as the 1970's. With the guidance of Prof Eugene Engelbrecht and Dr Jabus van den Berg, I was able to produce my first peer-reviewed paper and my first paper as the first author.
Having worked with Dr Dresing to access and understand the observational data that I've been using, the next step in my academic career was a step to Finland to work with her directly at the Space Research Lab.
