Javier Canales Luna

I am a freelance data scientist/analyst, collaborating with companies worldwide in projects related to NLP, machine learning, BI, data visualisation and others. I also work as a data science instructor, teaching courses on (Python) programming and Big-Data related topics. I regularly write data-science related articles, some of which have been published on established websites such as DataCamp, Towards Data Science and Analytics Vidhya.

I am also a researcher at the Institute for the Internet & the Just Society, where I co-coordinate a research programme on technology, climate change and sustainability.

I hold a Dual Bachelor in Law and Political Science from Carlos III University and an LL.M. in European Law from Maastricht University. After completing my postgraduate studies, I specialised in the field of data science, studying a data science Bootcamp at Datahack School.

As for my research interests, they lie in the interplay between technology, law and public policy, both from a local and international perspective.

After years living in different European countries, I recently moved back to my hometown Badajoz, in the southwestern Spanish region of Extremadura. My goal: transforming Badajoz into a global reference in sustainability, participatory democracy and multiculturalism.
