Dr. Santos has experience in research, project management and teaching. For over a decade, he served as a Senior Scientist at NASA Glenn Research Center and the Ohio Aerospace Institute. During his tenure, Dr. Santos support the Space Shuttle Program. He led research projects, developed two patents, published multiple articles and presented research findings in scientific conferences. After that, Dr. Santos joined the Molecular Sciences Research Center, UPR as a Manager of Scientific Instrumentation. There, he spent five years overseeing more than 3.5 million dollars of scientific instrumentation including a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance facility housing state-of-the-art spectrometers. In addition, Dr. Santos served as an adjunct professor of chemistry, a dissertation committee member, a research mentor, a member of bio-safety committee, and a co-advisor of an America Chemical Society student chapter. Currently, Dr. Santos is a professor of chemistry at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Through out his career, Dr. Santos has worked in multi-disciplinary research teams, managed research projects and research laboratories, written proposals and scientific articles.
