Javelin Elite is a my website designed to be instructional for beginner throwers.
Videos of elite javelin throwers are posted to demonstrate what proper technique looks like.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million words. Beginning throwers need to have a mental picture of what good technique is.
At the top of this home page are labels of subsequent pages (Recommended Practice Schedule, Daily Practice Routine, Flight Drills, Runway Drills, Net/Ball Drills, Pre-Meet Rehearsal, Muscle Memory, etc). Click on those labels to view the specific page.
My name is William Kouvolo. When I purchased a vacation home in The Villages in 2018, the Florida High School Athletic Association lifted their long term ban on the javelin event. Having competed in the javelin at the college level, I volunteered to coach the Villages HS javelin throwers (2019 thru 2023), then at Wildwood Middle High School (2024 & 2025) I was honored to work with several terrific young throwers! Several throwers have competed at the Florida 2A and 1A State Meet (2 State Champions and several medaling as top 8 places). In 2026, I will coach javelin at both Sumter County Florida high schools (South Sumter & Wildwood).
