about me

I am a PhD candidate at Stanford Linguistics and investigate questions from syntax and semantics from computational and formal perspectives. I hold a Doctoral Fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

I am excited about how we can use recent advances in neural network language models to test theories from theoretical linguistics, and on the flip side, how we can incorporate more theoretical knowledge to make models safer, more robust, and more interpretable [1].

My work in formal syntax concerns cross-linguistic constraints on structure building, movement, and Agree. Much of my research has drawn on fieldwork in Igbo, a language spoken in Southeastern Nigeria, and the structure of its left periphery [2]. More recent interests include coordination.

I work mainly with Christopher Manning and Boris Harizanov. Previously, I did my undergrad at McGill in Linguistics and CS, where I worked with Siva Reddy and Martina Martinović.

I have hosted a couple podcast episodes for the McGill AI Society which you can check out here!
