Her dreams were a jumble of images. At some point she realized she was dreaming and she tried to gain control. Using techniques that Marie had taught her, she slowly began to direct the images she was experiencing. She was standing before an enormous television. It towered from floor to ceiling. There was blackness all around her as the floor and ceiling melted away. She was alone in the darkness with the television.

Images flashed onto the screen. She would dismiss the ones she didn’t want to see with just a thought. Images she wanted to save began to tile around the television screen. When the saved images surrounded the entire screen, they began playing, one by one. First there was meeting Marie. She still felt the shock of seeing herself. She saw herself reading of Nate’s suicide announcement. The ghostly image of Shayla. Some images were disturbing. She saw Bryan strangling her in the witch’s circle. Finally, she found what she was looking for.

She was running from someone. Climbing stairs that seemed to go on forever. She felt Marie’s fear. She reached the top. She flung open the door. The roof. She was on the roof. Oh God. He’s right behind her. She felt his hands close over her face. What was going on? Why wasn’t she fighting? She was weightless. She was falling. She looked up. Nate was staring down at her as she fell. Her body turned. The ground was rushing up.

Trina sat up in bed, gasping. She was drenched in sweat. The sheets were damp from her perspiration. Alex was still asleep. She got up and went to the bathroom and splashed water on her face. She looked at herself in the mirror and began to cry. This needed to be over.
