"I did not arrive at the decision to run lightly. Over the years, many of you, my friends, family, and fellow citizens of this community have encouraged me to consider stepping up to serve in this capacity. Your voices convinced me that the time is right for new leadership that can work to make Berrien County an even better place for all who live here. I feel it in my heart that this is a calling I simply must answer.

 Berrien County is woven into the fabric of who I am. I care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of every resident. As your Sheriff, I would strive each day to uphold the law with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to building trust between law enforcement and all communities. For over two decades, I have been proud to serve this county, as a deputy. I have a thorough understanding of the challenges facing law enforcement today, and the vision and experience to meet those challenges head-on. If elected, I pledge to lead by example and always have an open door. Berrien County has given my family and me so much over the years. I want to give back and do my part to ensure it remains a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.
