I started my guitar playing journey at the age of 18. The first four years I spent teaching myself as much as I could through watching hours of YouTube videos, and deepening my understanding of reading music and tablature. Eventually my curiosity to understand more took me to Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. There I spent my time studying music theory and performing in weekly ensembles. I studied many different styles including Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical, and Flamenco. After two years, I earned my Associates degree in Performing Arts. Since then I have found great joy in sharing the knowledge I have learned. I have been teaching guitar/bass and ukulele for the past 8 years, and performing in various bands in the Houston area.
Through patience and a clear understanding that everyone learns in their own way, I will specifically tailor each lesson to my student, while making sure that the student learns the universal rules of how and why music works through music theory. No matter what your musical taste is, I want to help you achieve it. My ultimate goal is that each student has fun finding and bringing out their creativity with music.
