Long story short...
...Jason Bax was an investment banker until he "left the green to pursue the dream" of being a performing artist. After 200 rejections Jason broke into film & TV going on to work in nearly 100 productions including, X-Men, Fringe, Supernatural, etc...
His upcoming book, _______ ,
When he's not working on-set Jason writes & produces shows. In his spare time he teaches performance skills in a small, seaside town outside of beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada, aka Hollywood North.
After struggling to find his way, Jason found his first career success at 29 as a professional speaker / technology evangelist for a software company. He and his seminar team innovated .... _+ team and I generated $3.9 million in 11-months
("How I landed my dream job without sending a resume")
Rather than rejoining the rat race, Jason chose to stay home to help raise his little girls.
...still needs to bring home the bacon. (And boy do his little girls love their bacon. But, come on. Who doesn't, really?)
After failing his commodity trading exam he went on to build his portfolio betting the stock market would crash (after getting a very unusual tip) and turned a few thousand dollars into 6-figures shorting oil as it dropped from over $100 a barrel to $45 per barrel (based on a bizarre theory).
To bring in extra income as a successful stay at home dad during the recession Jason started an online business, which was eventually acquired in 2016. ( The expensive and painful lesson that cost him nearly $1-million to learn the right time to sell your startup ... by selling it at the wrong time.)
(How do you know when it's the right time to sell your start-up?)
After selling his start-up, Jason applied what he'd learned about technology start-ups. Bax entered the high-paced world of mergers and acquisition - joining an investment banking firm. specializing in helping founders of early-stage tech start-ups get acquired by big companies. In the last 18-months of his investment banking career he and the team sold three, two year old companies for a total of $400-million. (It was a very merry Christmas that year) and the firm was honoured by the National Angel Capital Investors Association for "Deal of the Year" award.
Finding investment banking lacking in creativity - Jason left investment banking to get into film and TV. After nearly 200 auditions he finally broke in, being cast in 100 films, TV and commercial productions. He has:
... but it wasn't until nearly ruining his marriage and losing his family he realized that the role of husband and father, is the most important role of his life.
