My Research
My research examines how modern supply chains can be redesigned to become more intelligent, resilient, and sustainable in an era defined by digital transformation, behavioural complexity, and environmental urgency. I work at the intersection of operations management, behavioural science, and emerging technologies, developing practice-based analytical models that help industries transition toward more transparent, circular, and regenerative systems.
A central thread running through my work is the study of platform‑based and digitally enabled supply chains. Recent publications explore how service‑sharing platforms expand, how crowdfunding ecosystems manage quality and misconduct, and how second‑hand markets can be governed through delegation and control. These studies reveal the operational frictions that arise when consumers, producers, and intermediaries interact on digital platforms, and they offer mechanisms to improve efficiency, trust, and long‑term sustainability. This platform‑focused research is complemented by work on behaviour‑based pricing, consumer bracketing, and variety‑seeking behaviour, which together illuminate how digital retail environments shape — and are shaped by — human decision‑making.
Another major strand of my research investigates technology‑enabled transformation, particularly the role of AI, robotics, and blockchain in modern operations. I study how AI‑augmented forecasting can mitigate systemic shocks in fast‑moving industries such as fashion, how blockchain‑enabled smart contracts can improve coordination and transparency, and how human‑robot collaboration can be designed to enhance both safety and productivity. These projects demonstrate how emerging technologies can be integrated into supply chains not merely as tools for automation, but as catalysts for new forms of coordination, resilience, and ethical practice.
Sustainability and circularity form the third pillar of my research identity. I examine how resale markets, trade‑in programs, and product‑upgrade pathways can extend product lifecycles and reduce waste. My work on pandemic‑driven supply chain reform — including the GREAT‑3Rs framework — highlights how global disruptions expose structural vulnerabilities and create opportunities for systemic redesign. Across these projects, I aim to build models that help industries shift from linear, extractive systems toward circular and regenerative ones.
Taken together, my research advances a vision of supply chains as complex socio‑technical systems — systems that require rigorous modelling, behavioural understanding, and technological innovation to meet the challenges of the next decade. By bridging theory and practice across digital platforms, emerging technologies, and sustainability transitions, my work contributes to the development of supply chains that are not only more efficient, but more adaptive, trustworthy, and regenerative.
