I am an ecologist with a PhD in Biology from Duke University. My doctoral research investigated how mercury moves from rivers to terrestrial food webs in regions impacted by gold mining. I've worked on many conservation-related projects, and have developed expertise in wildlife monitoring and spatial analysis.

Teaching is also a central focus of mine. Along with my PhD, I completed a Certificate in College Teaching and am a Kenan Institute Teaching on Purpose Fellow. I also value teaching outside the classroom, and believe scientists have a duty to communicate their work to the public. I have given public talks and produced writing intended to explain complex topics to general audiences. I also have extensive experience with technical writing, grant and proposal development, and project management.
