I am a biologist whose work spans ecotoxicology, community ecology, and energy flux across ecosystem boundaries. My dissertation research investigates how mercury moves from aquatic to terrestrial systems in regions of the Amazon impacted by gold mining. But my interests are broader than contamination alone. I've worked on many conservation-related ecological projects, and have developed expertise in wildlife monitoring and landscape analysis.

Teaching is also a central focus of mine, both in and outside the classroom. I believe scientists have a duty to communicate their work to the public, and have given public talks and produced writing intended to communicate complex scientific topics to lay audiences. I also have extensive experience with technical writing, grant and proposal development, and project management.
