Hello, I am Jasmin Kongsberg. Currently I am a junior at Dublin High School and I am lucky to be able to say that I have been given many opportunities to experiment with different courses with an open mind to expand my career horizons. Last year I completed an introductory course for my school’s PLTW Engineering Academy where I learned the building blocks of 3D design and computer modeling in the STEM field. To further my knowledge in this field, I am currently taking Principles of Engineering which involves projects that cover the major concepts of various engineering disciplines. I would love to integrate the skills I’ve gained in the fields of mechanical engineering and computer science to work with companies abroad to create products that can improve lives on a global scale.
My primary education has taken place in the Dublin Unified School District, however during my summers in elementary school, I attended school in Japan where I gained an international educational and cultural experience and the opportunity to learn about the difference in standards for students my age abroad. Also being half Danish and half Japanese, I have been immersed into different cultures from a young age which has led me to have a vast interest in traveling and learning about people from all around the world. Being a very ambiguous person, I don’t enjoy taking one idea and committing my entire life to it, for I find it much more exciting to see what other things I am capable of doing and looking for ways I can build that into what I already know.
As for an insight on some of my passions this is my 14th year dancing, 7th year competitively, and I am currently Vice President for Dublin's Future Business Leaders of America chapter. I have gained the experience of facilitating club accounts, keeping track of all expenses, and leading a club that is passionate about teaching students the various aspects of the business world. I am also secretary for Girl Up and continually finding ways to raise awareness regarding ways to increase women's rights and an education on a global scale. Lastly, I am a project manager for Dublin Mayor’s Council and continually working with determined individuals to make sure that our community offers programs that can optimize the success of Dublin students. My past has made me a person who continually strives to reach the highest objective while making sure that everyone’s opinion is heard and I would love to continue to contribute improve our community.
