Research Topic for M.Sc. at Clemson University and KAMS Lab | Funded by USDA Grant (2020-67021-31960)
PI: Dr. A. Bulent Koc; Co-PI: Dr. Matias Aguerre and Dr. John. P. Chastain
We developed 5 sensor-based systems for predicting the biomass quantity of the forage crops. The data collection was conducted on the actual pasture fields of Alfalfa, Bermudagrass and Tall Fescue. Further details can be explored here.
Research Topic for B.Tech. at Punjab Agricultural University | Funded by the Dept. of Farm Machinery and Power Engg., PAU
PI: Dr. Anoop K. Dixit; Co-PI: Dr. Rohinish Khurana
We developed the automatic load calculation device for the tractor's draft measurement from the continuous fuel consumption and engine rpm monitoring using an ultrasound sensor, rotary fuel meter, encoder and IR sensor. The research paper for this study can be accessed here.
Grad. Student Research | Spring 25 & Fall 24
Musser Fruit Farm, Pendleton, SC
Conducted irrigation of the berms in the field for research site preparation and to simulate the rain effect on the berms for finger-weeder testing.
Collected and post-processed the aerial image data for the creation of 3D field models for soil removal estimation.
Operated the tractor-mounted berm leveling machine for field testing and performance evaluation of 4 sensing systems.
Industrial Assignment | Fall 23
Titan Farms, Ridge Spring, SC.
Installed the magnetic induction sensor and its assembly (feeler rod) on the pedal wheel deburmer for autonomous actuation.
Upgraded the manually operated hydraulic controls to sensor-based controls for tree detection and actuation.
Tested and modified the developed automatic control system for working in Titan Farms field configurations.
USDA-funded Grant | Summer 23
Clemson University Main Campus and Morgan Poultry Centre, Clemson, SC.
Fabricated and assembled the chassis and frame for the semi-autonomous rovers (chicken robots).
Developed the algorithm and logic to autonomously control the movement of the rover in the aisleway.
Tested and troubleshooted the ultrasound sensors’ and motors working in the field conditions.
Graduate Studies Group Project | Fall 22
Clemson University Main Campus, Clemson, SC
Configured the wireless remote controller for manual operation and remote access to the spray pump actuators.
Designed the circuting and installed the mechanical components for the rover motion and control.
Examined the autonomous path-following feature of the rover with Pix4D and Mission Planner.
