Beyond Boring Software built the Jarvis app as a Paid app. This SERVICE is provided by Beyond Boring Software and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible within the Jarvis app unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information and app permissions. Jarvis is built on a "Local-First Architecture," meaning core intelligence, audio analysis, app blocking, and habit tracking are processed locally on your device. We request the following permissions:

App Blocking & Digital Wellbeing (Usage Access) Our app provides a Focus Protocol feature to help users eliminate digital distractions. To perform this service, the app requests the Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) permission.

How this permission is used: Usage Access is used strictly to identify when a user-selected blocked application is brought to the foreground during an active focus session, allowing the app to display a blocking shield overlay.
Privacy Guarantee: Usage Access is configured exclusively to query the active foreground application package name. We do not track your overall device usage history, read in-app content, or monitor your activity inside other apps. All foreground app-blocking checks occur 100% locally on your device in real-time and are never recorded or transmitted to any server.

Voice Assistant & Audio Processing (Microphone Access) Our app requests Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO) to process voice commands and provide hands-free continuous listening.

On-Device Processing: Audio input is analyzed locally on your device using on-device machine learning models (Google MediaPipe) in temporary RAM. Your voice recordings are never saved to permanent storage, recorded in the background, or transmitted to any external server or cloud service.

Contacts Information If granted, the Contacts permission (READ_CONTACTS) is used exclusively on your device to match contact names when you execute voice commands (such as asking the assistant to find or contact a person). Your contacts list remains private on your device and is never uploaded, synchronized, or shared with third parties.

Local Audio & Storage Access Storage permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) are used solely to locate and play local audio files selected by the user within the in-app audio player, as well as to save app preferences. We do not access, alter, or upload private photos, documents, or personal media files.

Overlay Display (System Alert Window) The app requires window drawing privileges (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) to render local UI components over active screens. This is used exclusively to display the Focus Shield overlay during blocked app attempts and to render the Assistant's floating HUD.

Installed Applications (App Inventory) To execute commands such as "Open [App Name]", the system must query the list of applications installed on your device. This data is processed entirely locally and is never transmitted off your device.

Habit Tracker & Reminders The app uses local alarm permissions (SET_ALARM, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) and Notification access (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) to schedule exact reminders for habits, notify you when focus timers end, and show persistent progress for active focus sessions.

Local Processing, Data Retention & User Rights

Jarvis is designed as an "Offline-First" intelligence system. The core logic, including your chosen identity tags, custom settings, focus session histories, habit records, and offline command processing, occurs entirely on your local device hardware.

We do not maintain remote servers that store your voice recordings, contact lists, or personal telemetry. All app settings and records are stored locally on your device in private application storage. You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the application's data in Android System Settings (Settings > Apps > Jarvis > Storage > Clear Data) or by uninstalling the application.

Third-Party Services & Search Providers

The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Specifically, to provide knowledge retrieval, definitions, and search results, this app transmits text-based search queries to the following third-party providers via our In-App Web View:

Wikipedia API: Used to retrieve definitions and encyclopedia summaries.
DuckDuckGo API: Used to answer "Why", "How", and general search questions.

Important Note on Search Data: No personal user data (such as your name, email, or precise location) is shared with these search services. Only the specific search query you speak or type is transmitted to retrieve the answer.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.
