IndiEarth: You have worked with small budget projects, such as your debut film, Swamohita. What was your experience dealing with budget constraints and how did it affect the making of the movie?

Siddharth Srinivasan, the director and producer of the critically acclaimed film Pairon Talle (Sand of Souls), was asked by a Delhi court to make room for his estranged wife Divya Bhardwaj at his house in New Friends Colony. His wife was reportedly not allowed to re-enter the house after she went to visit her mother.

Bhardwaj's counsel told the court that she was facing domestic violence by her husband and motherin-law. She also alleged that Srinivasan produced a Hindi film with financial help from her, for which she had taken huge loans. She further claimed that her husband misappropriated all the money received for the film leaving her with huge debt.

Let me get the hyperbole out of the way. Kangana is a bonafide movie star. Her dual role might go on to become one of the most iconic double roles in indian film history. Kangana struts her stuff so breathtakingly in the movie, you are left agape at the confidence, the talent and the swagger. The last time a female performance that chewed everything around her was Kareena in JWM, but Kangana went a step ahead and just took my breath away.

Mumbai-based director Faiza Ahmad Khan took a crew to film these entrepreneurs making their Malegaon Ka Superman and this absolutely delightful (and film festival award-winning) documentary is the result. 589ccfa754
