Japan Fest 26 will showcase the richness of Japanese culture through traditional and contemporary performances, cultural exhibits, culinary experiences, and a multitude of interactive activities. The exposure to Japanese culture, cuisine and art will create deeper awareness, appreciation and understanding of Japan and further strengthen U.S.-Japan friendship, bonds, and business at the local level.
Japan Fest is hosted by the Chicago Japanese American Council (CJAC), a coalition of 12 Japanese and Japanese American organizations dedicated to promoting Japanese culture and heritage in the United States. With its relocation to Skokie last year, we drew strong community participation and enthusiastic support in celebration of our 40th year. Building on this momentum, we are delighted to announce that we will be returning to Skokie , this time over two-spectacular-days, providing visitors from across Chicagoland and beyond with opportunities to experience and enjoy Japanese culture and food.
We are honored that the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago has pledged its continuing support, with Consul-General Masashi Mizobuchi serving as Honorary Chairman of this year’s festival.
