January in Stanislaus
It’s January in Stanislaus, the New Year’s begun,
We check out the weather, will there be rain or some sun?
We might see a bit of snow from afar
But more likely we’ll see some frost on the car.
Except for some mistletoe, most trees are bare
Dormant they lie, and await warmer air.
We put on our hat, our mittens, and boots,
Wishing instead it might be swimsuits.
At night it is crisp, clear and cold
The stars are so bright, light and bold.
It’s January in Stanislaus, I’ll be reading a book
If you don’t have one, just take a look.
