Maitane Ordoñez
My choice for Student of the Month is Maitane Ordonez. Although she has experienced difficult situations this year, she has pushed through and has kept focus. Her bright and cheery personality always makes me smile and her determination to do her very best is admirable. She spends an extraordinary amount of time doing her school work so that she can get the most out of her education at CPA. I am happy that I can recognize her in this way and look forward to the rest of the school year as her teacher.

Michael Morris
I have had the pleasure with working with a new student to our school named Michael Morris. Michael is an intelligent and thoughtful young man. He puts forth his best effort in all his schoolwork. He says that he prefers math, because that is his strong subject, but he is also an excellent writer. Sometimes the things we struggle with, in the end, will make the brightest star and that is what I see when Michael turns in his final writing assignments. Thank you for being an awesome student Michael!

Samuel Suits
My choice for Student of the Month is Samuel Suits. Samuel is hard working, responsible, and diligent with all his school work. He has a positive attitude and comes prepared to our meetings. Not only does he do well academically, he is very involved in the sound ministry at his church. He also has a passion for the mission field and has participated in 4 mission trips to Colombia. I have already been blessed to know Samuel and look forward to working with him for the rest of the year.

Kaeden Johnson
Kaeden Johnson is a brand new student to CPA and he started late in the semester. It took him no time to catch up to the rigorous pace of our school in spite of very challenging courses. All the while, he maintained straight A's! However, that is not why he made the cut as my Student of the Month. He loves that Lord and is eager to discuss spiritual matters every week in our meetings. Kaeden consistently shows exceptional qualities that make him outstanding. He is one of the most polite, respectful and teachable people I know. Not only that, but he is a fierce warrior in life. Kaeden is an academy level soccer player on track to play professionally or in a D1 school very shortly. That does not come without determination, self discipline and a competitive edge. I am continually amazed at the accomplishments Kaeden reaches academically and athletically while maintaining such a Christ-like character.

“From day one, Beka has always put forth consistent effort in her studies. Her desire for clarity always leads her to ask great questions leading to both a deeper understanding of the material and high marks in her classes. I am so grateful for Beka this year!"

Calvary Preparatory Academy has an exciting new announcement for students! After the semester is over, “Class Pages” will be added to each student's dashboard. The purpose of these pages are to connect you with other people in your grade, review special announcements for your classmates and any other specific content that pertains to just your grade level. This class page will operate like a club page does and will be available to every student.
Our first missionary family was recently called by God to serve Him in Hungary. CPA student Malina Nagy and her family moved to Hungary at then end of August 2020 to do some practical mission work at a church. The Nagy family has been in missions for all of Malina's life and she loves the fact that doing missions pleases the Lord. Malina and her family assist the church in maintenance, cooking and she even helps out with worship. As they are just settling in, CPA has helped Malina avoid the stress of switching schools in the middle of the school year and has also helped with eliminating the stress of attending a school where she doesn't know the language. Pray that God continues to make their transition smooth and that He will help them in whatever they do.
CPA student Nathan Olivera and his family have also been called to serve the Lord in Hungary, as well. The Olivera family have only been serving in Hungary since the end of October 2020, but were following the call of God in Brazil for 26 years before this. They were called to serve the Lord with the mission organization Word of Life by helping with Youth Ministry and directing the Bible Institute. "I really like the fact that I can serve Jesus in whatever I do," Nathan says. With that in mind, he helps out where he can with camps, maintenance and talking with the students. CPA has also helped Nathan find time to be a part of the ministry as school is flexible. It has helped free up Nathan's parents to do what they need to do as well as giving Nathan the freedom to travel and be apart of the things going on at the organization. While they are still adjusting to their new home, Nathan asks that we pray for wisdom while his parents are fitting into their leadership role for the Bible Institute, and that all the glory, honor and fruits that blossom from the ministry are given rightfully back to God. Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Mrs. Paola Henke, president of the school PAC team. For those of you who don’t know, PAC stands for Parent Ambassador Committee and serves our school by preparing fun events for the school, helping raise awareness of our school, fundraising and helping parents get involved. The PAC team was in charge of planning our first Spirit Week, which was a school-wide hit! “The PAC team was very excited to kick-off CPA’s first Spirit Week and loved all the wonderful comments the students had,” Mrs. Henke says. “We were happy the students chose to participate and show their school spirit. It demonstrated just how wonderful our school community really is." The PAC team will be revealing a few new projects soon, but it is unknown what these events will be. “I don’t want to give away the surprise, but I will say that the PAC team has noticed that there are some very talented students at CPA,” says Mrs. Henke. Be on the lookout for new announcements from the PAC team heading your way sometime soon!
