I am an experimental economist specializing in pro-social and sustainable behavior. My research focuses on understanding why individuals and organizations sometimes prioritize social responsibility over monetary benefits.
In my work, I utilize lab and field experiments to study how social preferences are influenced by economic conditions like inequality and uncertainty. I explore these dynamics across various contexts, including financial markets, charitable giving, tax compliance, and environmental sustainability. Before joining Radboud University, I held research positions at ETH Zürich and the University of Lausanne and obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Hamburg. My goal is to contribute to creating a more equitable and sustainable economy through evidence-based insights that drive responsible behavior in both policy and markets.
To conduct my research, I have been awarded several grants, including CHF 586'000 from the Swiss National Science Foundation or EUR 50'000 from the Dutch Research Council.
I am also a research fellow at Netspar.
