By downloading or using Jano, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be 13 or older (or 16 in the EEA).
Jano is an AI-powered music generation app that creates original music from user prompts through a third-party AI music engine (“AI Music Engine”). Features include text-to-music generation, lyric composition, style selection, song library management, and cloud storage. Service availability and quality depend on third-party providers and are offered on an “as available” basis.
Certain features may require creating an account, which may include providing an email and password. You are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts for violations or abuse.
You may use Jano only for lawful and ethical purposes. You may not use the Service to:
Generate, upload, or share content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, violent, terroristic, harassing, or discriminatory.
Create or share sexual or pornographic material (including content involving minors or non-consensual acts).
Infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
Misrepresent AI-generated music as entirely human-composed.
Reverse-engineer or extract the AI Music Engine.
Bypass usage quotas or commercial restrictions.
Resell or redistribute generated music as stock audio, samples, or AI datasets.
Violation may result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities.
5.1 Ownership of Outputs
Users retain rights to music they generate, subject to license terms below. JanoGroup LLC and its providers retain all rights to the underlying software and AI models.
5.2 Free-Tier License
Personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial license for private listening and educational use only. No monetization, promotion, or redistribution.
5.3 Paid Subscriber License
Paid plans (Weekly, Semi-Annual, Annual) include a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use, modify, distribute, and monetize generated music in commercial projects (e.g., YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, podcasts, games, videos).
This license survives subscription expiration for tracks already created.
You may not resell or sublicense the raw files as stock music, sample packs, or similar products.
5.4 Originality Disclaimer
AI-generated music may resemble existing works. JanoGroup LLC and its AI Music Engine make no representation or warranty of originality or non-infringement. You are solely responsible for verifying your use complies with copyright law.
5.5 Third-Party Provider Liability
The AI Music Engine is operated by an independent provider. JanoGroup LLC is not liable for any copyright or intellectual-property claims arising from the training data or operation of that engine.
5.6 DMCA Notices
Send copyright complaints to janogroupllc@gmail.com with your contact info, description of the work, and a statement of good faith. Valid claims may result in removal of content or termination of repeat offenders.
Free Tier: 1 song lifetime; ads shown; non-commercial.
Weekly: 20 songs per 7-day period; commercial license; ad-free.
Semi-Annual: 175 songs per 6 months; commercial license; ad-free.
Annual: 350 songs per 12 months; commercial license; ad-free.
Credits do not roll over. Unused credits expire at the end of each period. Optional top-up credits (if offered) may follow separate terms.
Payments and renewals are handled by the App Store in your local currency. All charges are final except as required by law.
Music is produced by machine-learning models that may yield variable results and unintended similarities. We do not guarantee originality, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose. Do not use Jano in medical, safety-critical, or legal contexts.
Your use of Jano is governed by our Privacy Policy which describes what data we may collect, how it’s used, and your rights.
The Service is provided “AS IS” without any warranty. To the maximum extent allowed by law, JanoGroup LLC is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JanoGroup LLC and its affiliates from any claims arising from your:
Use or distribution of AI-generated music.
Submission of content that violates laws or rights.
Commercial use of outputs.
Violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by Delaware law. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA Consumer Rules in Washington, DC (or virtually). No class actions; individual claims only. Opt out within 30 days by emailing janogroupllc@gmail.com with subject “Arbitration Opt-Out.”
You may cancel any time via App Store settings or by contacting us. We may terminate accounts for violations or abuse. Upon termination, access ceases and data is handled per the Privacy Policy. Existing licenses for tracks already generated remain valid.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement. Invalid provisions will be modified to closest lawful meaning; others remain effective. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger or sale. Force majeure applies for events beyond our control.
