I am a strength-based and collaborative therapist who utilizes systems theory, narrative therapy, social justice and trauma focused models. I also provide EMDR for clients both as individuals and within couples’ work. Solution-Focused and Motivational Interviewing modalities are also utilized in my work with clients. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives. I believe every client has the right and ability to author their own story. I am passionate about working with those suffering from trauma (including as the result of experiencing oppression), grief and loss, life changes, family conflict, anxiety and depression as well as any problem getting in the way of connection with others and self.
As a clinician, and personally in all areas of my life, I strive to be culturally sensitive and affirming of those in the LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodiversity in clients, as well as the crucially important commitment to antiracism work.
In addition to therapy services, I have also had years of experience teaching and supervising beginning therapists on their journey toward intentional clinical social work and family therapy. Currently, I am working on the creation of a non-profit organization called "Mourning Dove Community Collective." It will bringing together service providers from a variety of disciplines offering support groups, community events, classes and trainings. The purpose and mission of the collective is to create a path for connection during a time of our epidemic of loneliness. It will offer an affirming space for anyone belonging to marginalized populations.
