SPP Skyrmionics Workshop:
Numerical Methods for Topological Magnetic Textures
28 - 29 November 2023, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
Aim of this workshop
Topological magnetic textures such as skyrmions are in the focus of research and simulation packages like OOMMF or MuMax3. However, these standard codes have their limitations. Also, recent trends in the field go beyond the standard features available in these tool boxes. As a result, many researchers develop and maintain their own micromagnetic and/or atomistic simulation frameworks or wrote custom extensions for the standard libraries.
The workshop on Numerical Methods for Topological Magnetic Textures serves as a platform for researchers who develop micromagnetic or atomistic simulation codes that are specifically designed for applications in the context of topological magnetic textures. We want to exchange ideas, concepts, and solutions for problems that arise in these activities and discuss implementations of numerical methods which we use in our codes. A key topic for this workshop concerns how boundary conditions can be implemented correctly and efficiently when continuum models are discretised to enable numerical computation of solutions. We hope for lively exchange of ideas during the workshop.
