Crack the Code coding workshops introduced students in grades 5-8 to the principles of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Web and App Development, & more. The monthly workshops utilized hands-on learning experiences and mentorship to inspire a younger generation to pursue careers in different technology fields.
HackJA challenged high school participants to work in teams while competing in various computer science challenges. Students from NJ and around the US and globe, each with varying levels of skills, participated in winter and spring 24-hour virtual hackathons, also attending workshops with corporate and college volunteers.
More than a career fair, through this customized, engaging, and interactive digital platform nearly 10,000 middle & high school students attended virtual webinars and presentations, explored company-sponsored career booths, learned about career pathways, and interacted with virtual volunteers.
This virtual series brought together women and high school students to share advice, learn new skills, and set goals for the future. Weekly activities featured interactive breakout sessions designed to give the next generation of leaders the confidence and skills they need to dream big and reach their full potential.
Overall impact was achieved through all JANJ initiatives, including the above spotlighted programs.
