Organic Synthesis & Catalysis

Catalytic organic synthesis plays a key role in scalable and sustainable production of chemicals. Our research group focuses on the development of efficient and sustainable methodologies for organic synthesis while elucidating the reaction mechanistic intricacies behind them. In particular, our research interests are to establish design and development of new chiral platforms that enable various catalytic asymmetric transformations including cross-electrophile coupling, MHAT hydrofunctionalization and C-H functionalization. Our research is guided by three steps: 1) design and synthesis of new chiral catalysts, 2) development of asymmetric catalytic reactions, and 3) investigation and understanding of reaction mechanisms

All members joining our group will be trained in synthetic chemistry, and organometallic chemistry and will acquire experimental technique as well as leadership and communication skills to become independent researchers who will shape the next decades to come.
