With a water pistol and wearing a superhero mask, Matteo attacks waitress Rosa in a pub. He has no idea what a shock this will cause her.
Karin Lossow knows Theo from business school, where she leads a course on legal issues as part of a project week. By chance, she had observed a bullying attack on Theo, who was at the top of his class, and offered the boy her help. Rainer Witt and his colleagues Holm Brendel and Dorit Martens examine Theo's laptop. It turns out that he was engaged in a lively trade in test questions, which he sold to his classmates, making thousands of euros in profit. To do this, the alleged model student used an access to the directorate's server - only school secretary Ludwig knew the password.
This film is about friendship, fate and the autonomy of our decisions. It raises the question of the degree to which we are shaped by our past, where our responsibility begins and where it ends. The inner conflict of our protagonist is complex and difficult: the outsider finds himself in a downward spiral that makes it increasingly difficult for him to break out of it. When he now finds himself in an accident situation for which he is only secondarily responsible, he is confronted with his past. His criminal record makes it impossible for him to get away with it, but running away would only make things worse. The question of responsibility, guilt, and the often ironic ways of fate are themes that continually gain relevance.
