Explore the exhibitor hall and find a technology that you have not used before. This could be an application, a device, or an online platform.
Ask the exhibitor for a demo, or sign up for a hands-on workshop showcasing this technology.
As you test it out, consider its potential uses in your classroom. How would it enhance your teaching? How would it benefit your students' learning?
Take a photo or video of yourself trying out the technology, and jot down your thoughts about potential classroom use. You'll need these for your submission.
Throughout the conference, make an effort to meet and talk with educators from different schools, districts, or countries.
Engage in conversation about teaching strategies, resources, or digital tools you both use. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn something new.
Take a selfie with the educator and write down the most interesting or inspiring idea from your conversation.
Remember to ask for permission before you take a photo and share your discussion notes in your submission.
Attend one of the keynote speaker presentations.
Listen attentively and identify a significant take-away or inspiring quote that resonates with you.
Share this wisdom on social media using the hashtags #ISTE23 and #ISTEKeynote. This will allow other educators, even those who couldn't make it to the conference, to benefit from the insight.
Provide a screenshot or link of your social media post for your submission.
Look for edtech startups or lesser-known companies in the exhibitor hall.
Engage with them, learn about their offerings, and consider how their products or services could benefit your students or your school.
Collect a business card or brochure from the company and jot down some potential uses for their product/service in your educational context.
You'll need to submit the company's name and your notes for this task.
Choose a workshop to attend that falls outside of your typical subject area or grade level.
Be open-minded and think about how the ideas presented could be applied to your teaching, even if they're not directly related to your subject.
Write down at least one new strategy or idea that you learned from the workshop and how you could implement it in your teaching.
Include the name of the workshop and your insights in your submission for this task.
Remember to submit your proof for each task at the Scavenger Hunt Submission Booth. Enjoy the hunt, learn a lot, and have fun!
