Janet was a young woman born on February 29th, 1892, in Arnprior, ON. She was known to be a sweet and caring young woman. She graduated as a nurse from Queen's University.
Janet and her sister Abigail enlisted with the Canadian Army Medical Corps to go overseas and to care for soldiers in World War I.
Janet grew up in Arnprior, Ontario. Her family home was on Ottawa Street, right outside her high school ADHS.
Janet and her family were Presbyterian and she went to St. Andrew's church regularly. Janet, her sister, and father's names are on display inside the church for all to see.
Janet's sister Abigail enlisted as a nurse at the age of 26, She served for many years but in 1917 she became very ill. She retired in Renfrew and passed away peacefully.
Janet's family home is still in great condition (2025). This is how close the home was to her church; Grace St. Andrew's.

All Canadian nurses had to be over the age of 25, unmarried, and had to be a qualified nurse.

In 1940, Janet passed away of influenza and bronchitis. We are thankful for everything Janet did and we are proud that she served our country.
