meet mrs. dowd!    

Welcome friends!  Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.  My name is Jane Dowd and I am thrilled to be your teacher!  

I have been teaching for over 16 years and have taught PreK trough 12th grade.  I have earned a Bachelor's Degree from State University of New York at New Paltz and a Master's Degree from Long Island University.

I am passionate about public education and hold this job, and my time in the classroom, very dear to my heart.  My students and their needs are the most important part of the education process for me.  I truly enjoy getting to know my students and helping them feel comfortable being themselves while receiving a quality education.  I believe that teachers are part facilitator and performance artist.  Be prepared to have fun, laugh, and LEARN when you are in my classroom!

When I am not teaching I spend all my time with my Husband (Mr. Dowd) and our two sons.  Declan is 9  and Conor is 7.  We love beaching, reading, playing music, watching movies, and creating art projects.  When I have time to myself I enjoy running and baking. My birthday is October 8!  I can't wait to get to know you too!
