J&S Vapour Blasting Service

Terms & Conditions / Disclaimer

1. General Liability

All workpieces are accepted and processed strictly at the customer’s own risk. While every reasonable care is taken during handling and vapour blasting, J&S Vapour Blasting Service shall not be held liable for loss or damage to any items resulting from theft, fire, flooding, power failure, natural disasters, accidents, or any other circumstances beyond our control while items are on our premises.

2. Pre-Existing Condition

Customers acknowledge that many components submitted for vapour blasting are aged, worn, corroded, or structurally weakened prior to cleaning. J&S Vapour Blasting Service accepts no responsibility for failures, cracks, leaks, distortion, or damage that may become apparent during or after the vapour blasting process due to the pre-existing condition of the part.

3. No Guarantee of Cosmetic Perfection

Vapour blasting is a cleaning and surface restoration process and does not guarantee the removal of all stains, pitting, corrosion marks, casting imperfections, or surface defects. Final appearance is dependent on the material type, age, condition, and prior treatment of the component. Before-and-after comparisons may vary.

4. Component Preparation

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all components are suitably prepared before vapour blasting. This includes, but is not limited to, the removal of seals, bearings, butterflies, shafts, bushings, gaskets, plugs, studs, nuts, bolts, fasteners, washers, springs, auxiliary hardware, and all internal or moving components unless expressly agreed otherwise. Masked areas, blind holes, internal cavities, threaded passages, or inaccessible internal surfaces are not guaranteed to be completely cleaned during the vapour blasting process.

If components are submitted fully or partially assembled, J&S Vapour Blasting Service shall not be held liable for any damage, restricted movement, functional issues, or cosmetic changes arising from blasting residue, moisture retention, or inadequate access to internal areas.

Customers are further advised that any hardware or components retaining original plating or surface coatings (including but not limited to powder coating, zinc-, chrome-, nickel-, tin-plating or similar finishes) may require replating or refinishing if left installed during the vapour blasting process. J&S Vapour Blasting Service accepts no responsibility for the condition, appearance, or loss of existing coatings or finishes on such hardware.

5. Post-Blasting Cleaning Responsibility

Vapour blasting is a surface finishing and cleaning process only. Although J&S Vapour Blasting Service takes utmost care in removing residual media after the blasting process, it still remains the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure all components are thoroughly cleaned, rinsed, dried, and inspected after vapour blasting and before reassembly or use.

This is especially critical for carburettors, engine components, oil passages, fluid galleries, and any precision or internally machined parts, where residual media, moisture, or contamination may remain if not properly cleaned. Compressed air, ultrasonic cleaning, or solvent flushing may be required. J&S Vapour Blasting Service accepts no responsibility if failure to carry out adequate post-blasting cleaning results in restricted movement, premature wear, or mechanical damage.

6. No Liability After Collection

Once workpieces have been collected by the customer, J&S Vapour Blasting Service accepts no liability for any damage, malfunction, performance issues, or consequential loss arising thereafter, including but not limited to incorrect reassembly, inadequate post-cleaning, improper installation, or use without appropriate inspection.

7. Storage, Collection & Unclaimed Items

Completed workpieces must be collected within a reasonable time agreed upon by J&S Vapour Blasting Service & the customer.

8. Payment & Ownership

All workpieces remain the property of J&S Vapour Blasting Service until full payment has been received. Unpaid items may be retained as security for outstanding balances or sold to recover costs.

9. No Responsibility for Consequential Damage

J&S Vapour Blasting Service shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to engine failure, mechanical damage, financial loss, downtime, or personal injury arising from the use or installation of vapour-blasted components.

10. Photographic Records & Marketing Use

J&S Vapour Blasting Service reserves the right to take photographs of workpieces before, during, and after vapour blasting for quality control, record-keeping, or marketing purposes, including use on websites or social media with prior consent from the customer. No identifying customer information will be disclosed.

11. Website & Advice Disclaimer

Information provided on this website is for general guidance only and does not constitute mechanical, engineering, or professional advice. Customers are responsible for ensuring that components are suitable for their intended application and use.

12. Acceptance of Terms

Submission of any workpiece to J&S Vapour Blasting Service constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions, whether written, verbal, or implied.
