Who are Jam Packed Ukes?

We like to think of ourselves as an informal group of likeminded ukulele enthusiasts who enjoy all things that can be played on a ukulele, some of us even singalong.

Where and when do we meet? @December2025

We enjoy weekly meet ups at Drax Sports and Social Club, Drax, Selby YO8 8PJ so we are easy to find just look out for the big cooling towers and the club is on the opposite side of the road. 

We meet every Tuesday at 1.00pm to sing and strum. We also have a finger picking session from 3.15pm for those who feel like strumming is not enough.  If you would like to give us a try or would like more information please send an email to jampackedukes@gmail.com 

You don't need to be able to read music, lots of us don't however you will need to learn a few chords. We have lots of tunes that only use 4 chords so getting started is easy.

You can borrow a ukulele but ideally you can purchase a perfectly decent starter one for around £30. You will find that a JamPacked person will be happy to advise you if you have any query about where to purchase. We all love our ukuleles very much. Please note that we use electonic pads/tablets for our music so you will need one that will download apps.

What do we play?

We play lots of popular songs from our happy files and we are always on the lookout for something new to add to our collection.

What other things do we do?

We are sometimes asked to play at functions, for example parties and Christmas events etc. We enjoy entertaining folk and always do our very best to play whatever you wish. We do not charge for our time as we enjoy it so much, however we welcome donations to pass on to local charities.
