About the Author
Jaime "JamJam" Sansoucie may be a first-time author, but she has ALWAYS loved writing. Her friends and loved ones even call her text messages "books" or "novels" because they are so thoughtful and well written (and admittedly a little lengthy... 😂). Although she enjoys all types of writing, she definitely has a knack for rhyming, as you'll see in each book of her series, The Adventures of JamJam.
Educationally, Jaime has Bachelor's degrees in Child Development and Spanish and a Master's degree in Counseling as well as certifications in School Counseling K-12, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners).
Professionally, she taught Spanish and co-taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for a few years but realized that her real passion was for helping her students with the social and emotional issues that they were facing outside the classroom. This prompted her to pursue her Master's in Counseling, and she has been a counselor ever since. With over a decade of experience in the field of education, Jaime has encountered many students over the years who have faced significant trauma and struggled with a variety of mental health issues. She has used her training as well as relied on what she learned from her own difficult past to help her students to cope with and work through their concerns.
Although Jaime felt confident and capable when assisting her students, she still struggled with overcoming issues of her own, particularly complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD). Despite her best efforts to heal, it simply wasn't working! Desperate for peace in her heart and mind, Jaime decided to attend a group called Celebrate Recovery at a local church where they focus on healing from your hurts, habits, and hang ups. She felt strange going there because she didn't believe in God, but intensive, long-term therapy just wasn't enough. At her very first Celebrate Recovery meeting, Jaime met Sheryl AKA "SherSher," the wonderful human being that God would use to teach Jaime how His love, grace, and mercy could completely change her life! Over time, Jaime and SherSher became best friends and sisters in Christ. With SherSher by her side, Jaime was saved on July 19, 2024, and then was baptized two months later. Since then, she has had a fire burning within her to tell the world how Jesus delivered her from her pain and helped her to feel true peace and joy like she'd never felt before. This prompted her to begin her journey as a Christian children's author, and she cannot wait to see not only what God has in store for her career as a writer but also how God will use the JamJam books to change the lives of children and teens around the world!
