Curriculum Vitae

In Brief:

I was born in November, 1989 in New York. I began my post-secondary education in 2007 at Marist College, graduating in 2013 with a B.A. in English and Philosophy. While a student at Marist, I attended a summer abroad program and took courses at Cambridge University. I received my M.A. in English from Southern Connecticut State University, where I had the opportunity to teach alongside my faculty mentor, Dana Sonnenschein, Ph.D. I wrote a master's thesis on the evolution of moral character representation through the sixteenth century in England under Dr. Sonnenschein's direction. I began my doctoral studies at Tufts in fall of 2013 and my degree was conferred in May 2021. Under the direction of Dr. Judith Haber, I defended a dissertation in which I contend that early modern literary representations of domestic and sexual violence against women highlight an implicit understanding of women's labor as essential to the English economy despite its routine undervaluation.

Achievement Highlights:

I have presented and continue to present my work at conferences around the country, and I most recently participated virtually in the Folger workshop on Shakespeare pedagogy as part of the 2021 Shakespeare Association of America Conference. I currently have articles under review in Studies in English Literature 1500-1900 and Borrowers and Lenders: The Journal of Shakespeare and Appropriation. I was awarded the Robyn Gittleman Graduate Teaching Fellowship through the Experimental College at Tufts, and this fellowship allowed me to design and teach my course in Fall 2017, EXP 0005-GS: "Horror, Abjection, and You." Before leaving Massachusetts, I was co-teaching HIST 0196: "Science and Religion in Early Modern Europe" with Dr. Alisha Rankin as a fellow in Tufts' Graduate Institute For Teaching fellowship program, and was a member of the adjunct faculty of both Lesley University. Since moving in January 2018 to Buffalo, NY, I have been adjunct faculty at Niagara University, Canisius University, and Medaille College.
